Summary
"Bodies and skin may fade away,
but bones remain forever."
One day, without any notice, Junwon's lover, Hajin, disappeared, causing him immense pain. Two years have passed since then, and the wounds of their separation have slowly started to heal. Junwon is trying to tidy up everything and move on, but at that moment, he receives an unexpected package that he hadn't received before.
Inside the box, there's a card with a message and a CD. The message on the card reads, "Bring 500 million won in cash by 4 AM on June 2nd, or you'll find it hard to see me alive." It sounds unreal and like a prank. Junwon assumes it's some kind of joke, so he casually plays the CD on his laptop.
As the file starts playing, the image of his old lover, Hajin, who vanished without a word two years ago, appears on the screen. In the video, Hajin is trapped in an unknown warehouse, suffering at the hands of an abductor. It's an unbelievable and distressing sight. Junwon is shocked, his head spinning as he stares at the monitor.
June 1st, 3:53 PM.
There's less than 12 hours left until the time mentioned in the message from the abductor...
Author's review
Sometimes, it's not about grand logical events or significant turning points. Even a small and absurd mistake can twist everything. Getting lost on the way, misreading the time, receiving a package late—these seemingly trivial incidents can turn what happened into what didn't happen. Promises made with a finger-crossed oath can become mere bubbles, and the person you planned to spend a lifetime with can vanish before your eyes. Life, despite all its complexities, is surprisingly fragile.
And among the fragility, perhaps the most fragile thing of all is love.
Nevertheless, there are those who search for something unchanging through any circumstances. Something as everlasting as bones, even when flesh and skin disappear. They believe that something eternal will persist for tens, hundreds, thousands of years. For without that belief, they can't bear the profound emptiness that engulfs them.
Introduction an author
Author. Mijin Jung
I am active as a scenario and picture book writer.
I always contemplate how to convey the stories I want to tell in a more engaging manner.
At the end of this contemplation, I have ended up creating books with various formats.
Some of the books I have written include "Mr. Who", "Clipped Fingernails", "Good night, Coco".

I'm freely capturing various scenes.
I wander around drama sets and even stumble in film shoots. Amidst all this, I find the most joy in film projects where perfect predictions are hard to come by.
I'm going everywhere. Straight ahead, diagonally, sideways, backwards, tracing parabolas...
