It's because I forgot that I can be a shining being when I live as I am.

Author Gaheezy, who wrote and drew this book, had to face many moments of discrimination and hatred while living as a woman, Asian, and sexual minority. Therefore, whenever She heard the voices of many people who had to be denied living as themselves, She had no choice but to sympathize deeply. The first picture book <Dorothy Mansion>, which began in this way, is a story about a world where people of various colors can recognize each other's differences and live in a harmony with people of various colors to their heart's content.

Just as we look different, the shape of love is all different.
And the mind can be embedded anywhere and can flow anywhere.

In the book, people with various looks and ways of life appear. They have bumpy shapes, heterogeneous colors and rough lines that are not perfectly refined. In addition, throughout the story, there are landscapes that are overflowing or out of balance as if they were pouring out. But in the end, all of those elements overlap and mix, enriching the scene.
As such, <Dorothy Mansion> makes readers feel the emotions of various "love" through the harmony of strange and beautiful characters. I hope you and I will find our shining figure in Dorothy Mansion, which is so full of love.

There is an unforgettable scene among the scenery I saw in New Zealand that I once stayed. The tip of my nose was touching for some reason as I watched various skin colors, different cultures and languages, and various people forming families and enjoying picnics together on the beach with the transparent and sparkling summer sea.
After thinking for a long time about how to talk about diversity most easily and clearly, I happened to find that the word "Dorothy's friend" was used as a slang for homosexual in society at the time. When one of the characters says, "You really have queer friends, Dorothy," Dorothy replies.

 "It doesn't matter what's weird, because it's a friend."

Inspired by this story, I planned <Dorothy Mansion> and used collage techniques to create a fantasy image that mixes reality and the ideal world.
