"What else have I missed?
I sit still in the dark room today, lost in thought."
This is a collection of brief reflections and photographs that capture the flow of the four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter.
The author records their daily life with a cellphone, casually documenting each day.
It's a simple recollection of the day, with photographs taken nonchalantly with a cellphone, and the moments described with a plain sincerity.
Following these fragments of an ordinary daily life, one may start to feel a sense of appreciation akin to admiring a monochromatic landscape painting.
"If there's anything I missed" is a collection of reflections that captures moments, starting off smoothly but inevitably becoming sharp, through the author's unique and perceptive lens.
Author Jihye wrote and took photos with the mindset of discovering the gaps in everyday life, although each day seemed unremarkable.
As you read her words and view her photos, you'll realize that the act of faithfully recording each day becomes a source of strength, sometimes more so than grand resolutions or sweet consolation.
'If there's anything I missed' can be read in chronological order from spring to winter, but it's also recommended to randomly open a page before ending the day and read just one entry.
How about sending the serendipitously discovered sentences as a greeting to someone you miss, in place of a heartfelt message?
"When you see this, contact me."
One missed call, received too late,
It's like news you find out much later,
Clearly, they were by your side, but now they can no longer be found,
Yet traces remain, making you look back repeatedly on those moments.
Like this, with just a corner of a memory,
We give and receive many influences,
Sometimes feeling sad, joyful, anxious,
Or even finding relief, we can't really tell.
What else have I missed?
I sit still in the dark room today, lost in thought.
I want to gather all the memories scattered around,
The glances and hearts that I didn't notice back then,
And ask them how they are, all of them.
Jihye
I have been continuing my work through photography and writing after majoring in pure fine arts. I find myself drawn to the ordinary scenes of daily life, such as people doing morning cleaning, objects placed on a table, or the sun setting by the window. I enjoy observing and documenting these small movements.
'If there's anything I missed' is my first collection of reflections, where I have gathered these records.
